Top 10 phase 4 Marvel Films

Marvel’s Phase four films are lined up to continue the MCU juggernaut, despite delays from COVID-19. Once completed, there will be 34 films in the MCU! Today we look at 11 films that will make up the next phase, and no worries, we will make sure to be semi-spoiler-free.

Black Widow – May 7, 2021

The 24th film in the MCU universe is a much-delayed film that has been in various stages of development since 2015. We first expected it to come out in May 2020, but for some reason, things have been delayed for a year. No clue what that reason could be. The film takes place after Captain America: Civil War and puts the titular character on the run from her past as a spy.


Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – July 9, 2021

This completed film has been in development since 2001. According to reports, this film will expand on the Ten Rings organization featured in the first Ironman film and bring a real Mandarin after the fake Mandarin in Ironman 3.  


Eternals – November 5, 2021

he poster art copyright is believed to belong to the distributor of the film, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the publisher, Marvel Studios, or the graphic artist.

Already completed, this star-studded film seems to be a departure from previous MCU films. It appears to have little ties with the main MCU films. Focusing on the Eternals, an immortal alien race created by the Celestials to the MCU. With the inclusion of the characters, the Inhumans’ inclusion could follow after their unsuccessful television debut.


Spider-Man: No Way Home – December 17, 2021

The film that almost broke up the Disney-Sony deal was initially scheduled to be released as early as 2017. However, fan outrage and outreach for the star brought the two parties back together. This movie is being filmed and has many rumors attached. The success of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse seems to influence this film. It is rumored that previous Spider-Men, Toby McGuire, and Andrew Garfield, may have cameos. While the inclusions Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus are confirmed and were featured in two different Spider-Man series.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – March 25, 2022

This film is directed by Spider-Man alum Sam Raimi, with music by Danny Elfman, and is currently filming. Intended to turn up the intensity of the weirdness featured in the first film it will feature the inclusion of the Scarlet Witch. This film also will feature the first debut of interdimensional traveler Miss America on the screen.


Thor: Love and Thunder – May 6, 2022

Currently being filmed, this sequel brings back Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif to the MCU. Continuing with Taika Waititi’ s style from Thor: Ragnarök, this film has been described as a romance film. According to Ronnie James Dio, “Rainbow in the Dark” by Dio will be featured in this film. It can be assumed that it might feature in the same vein as Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” in Thor: Ragnarök.

Black Panther II – July 8, 2022

This sequel was being worked on since the release of the film. When the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman changed the plan for the film., the film has adapted as the role of T’Challa will not be recast. It is expected filming will begin summer of 2021.

Captain Marvel 2 – November 11, 2022

Captain Marvel 2 is currently in preproduction. What we know about this film that it may explore the time between the first film and Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, the character Kamala Khan/Ms. Mavel and grown-up Monica Rambeau from their respective Disney+ shows will appear in the film.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – 2022

Although delayed, this movie is currently being filmed. The name of seems to be related to the line “Do you guys just put the word ‘quantum” in front of everything?” spoken by Scott Lang in Ant-Man the Wasp. This movie will feature Kang the Conqueror and has all the main cast of the previous films.


Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – 2023

This movie was initially scheduled to be filmed in 2017; however, writer and director James Gunn were fired by Disney, cause the film to be delayed. Disney reversed its decision, but Gunn was indisposed due to commitments to Warner Brothers for The Suicide Squad and the spin-off series Peacemaker. The cast of the prior films are scheduled to return. This film is set after Avengers’ events: Endgame, and Television Special The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Fantastic Four – ???

Now that 21st Century Fox was bought by Disney, the rights to Marvel’s first family. Now that the house of mouse has control, Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel, has announced that there will be a Fantastic Four movie in Phase Four, and it will be directed by Jon Watts, the director of the MCU Spider-Man films. Other than this information, we do not know anything more about the film.
