What has transformed from a simple pun to a full-blown event, May the 4th has become Star Wars Day. Initially, “May the Fourth be with you” was a joke but with Disney’s owning of the franchise, the impetus to brand this day has grown. Now each year it is an opportunity to keep their investment growing and activate in the imagination of the fans. Despite the ongoing pandemic, both in-person and online events will go on to celebrate this 44-year-old franchise.
